Greetings Dr. Khorsand:
Please post this sad news on your site as it relates both to poverty in our society and people selling one of their important internal organs, as well as the inability of the medical science to deal with this illness at the present time.
Sincerely,
Rooghieh Kashefi
Here is the news:
Kidney Prices Rise Following Television Show
The Director-General of the Association for the Protection of Patients with Kidney Illness confirmed the increase of the price of kidney following the broadcasting of an episode of a television series during the holy month of RAMADAN. In an interview with ISNA, Mustafa Ghasemi said, “In this episode which just aired before EFTAR, one of the characters sells one of his internal organs for an unrealistic high price, and, this problem has effected the public opinion, and has caused a higher price for internal organs to be asked by the sellers.”
The Director-General told ISNA, “Unfortunately, after the airing of the episode, the Association has received suggestions of 10 to 15 million TOOMANS as the selling price of a kidney.” Ghasemi concluded that some of the newspapers are fanning the flame by accepting advertisements for buying and selling kidneys.
Dr. Khorsand’s answer:
Dear Mrs. Kashefi:
I received your email in regard to the buying and selling of kidneys and how it has become so obvious and widespread that it is openly advertized in the media, talked
about on television shows, and interviews with kidney officials and saddened me. It is unfortunate that kidney officials voice their objections on the increase of the kidney price rather than on the poverty and desperation of the kidney seller, and, how well did you describe the situation.
I wish instead of this so-called Association for the Protection of Patients with Kidney Illness, which is useless and more of a business rather than an advocacy group, a real and sincere advocacy group should be established to educate the kidney patients who think that their kidneys are out of work and worthless and refer them to me so I could help them through the proven system of self-healing along with special diet to get their healthy kidney back, and, the 10-15 million TOOMANS that they allocated plus perhaps that same amount for prescriptions, hospitalization and surgery could be saved. And, maybe they could give that 10-15 million TOOMANS to those patients so they could help those patients get out of poverty and also help themselves by getting free of unsafe kidneys.
I, with my system, have helped scores of kidney patients, and I am ready to not only kidney patients, but also breast cancer patients who are thinking of surgery.
